 Austen Hempstead reckons he's 'lost' more sales than anyone else he knows. But if you believe that we learn more when we lose than when we win, it's no surprise to discover that while 'losing' all those sales, a funny thing happened -  he built and sold 2 sales businesses; one that he took from zero to a sales team of 150 people and 30 admin staff working out of 15 offices across the UK and another that started (again from zero) in Dubai and expanded in to Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing. 

Austen now spends his time working with sales teams around the UK and can name FTSE 100 companies such as Capita and G4S among his clients. But 2-3  times each year he shares his ideas and methodology with sales people / business owners / SMEs on his 1-Day Essential sales Skills Workshop. The last of these in 2018 will be in Lincoln on September 20th and in Hull on September 25th.


The workshop will cover:

  • Universal principles of persuasion / influence and how to use them
  • 'People buy people' - easy to say, but what can we do to enhance the chances of people 'buying' us?
  • The structure of an effective sales process
  • What exactly is a 'feature' and what is a 'benefit'? Why is it important to know? What about 'attractions' - how do you use those?
  • How to clarify whether your prospect has a need for your product / service
  • How to build the perception of the need (for your product / service) in the mind of your prospect
  • How to sell value
  • How to stop losing sales on 'price'
  • How to reduce objections
  • Closing the sale
